16 Jawans Lost Their Lives in Sikkim Accident

No matter how careful anyone can be, there’s always the risk of being involved in a road accident. many statistics show that accidents are becoming more and more common. And as the number of cars on the road increases, so does the chance of being involved in a collision. Road accidents are a leading cause of death and injury worldwide. Every year, millions of people are killed or seriously injured in road accidents. In many countries, road safety is a major public health concern.


Today, in a tragic accident, 16 Indian Army jawans were killed after the truck they were traveling in fell into a gorge in Sikkim. The truck was carrying a lot of personnel and was part of a 3-vehicle convoy that was moving towards Thangu when it failed to control and tumbled into the valley. The truck was balancing towards a sharp turn when it went down. A rescue operation was launched quickly and many soldiers were air evacuated. Union defence minister Rajnath Singh expressed his pain over the incident. This is a devastating loss for the families of the soldiers who lost their lives. The thoughts and prayers of the country are with them during this difficult time.
