India will become the first nation to sell off the satellite communication spectrum, and it must be planned in such a way that will bring several investors into the country.
Mr. P.D. Vaghela, The TRAI chairman said that The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) will soon make guidelines to make permissions required for satellite communication from various Ministries. Information and Broadcasting, Space, and Telecom seamlessly enhance the ease of doing business in the sector. He was speaking at a Broad-band India Forum summit on SatCom.
Additionally, he stated that the Department of Telecommunication has provided TRAI with the satellite-based communication-related spectrum that needed to be put up for auction. He further believes that India will deal with the space base spectrum sale problem first and that is working on it for many days.
According to the regular procedure intended for satellite communication, The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has not yet released a consultation document on the spectrum auction. When queried about the document’s status, Mr. Vaghela said that TRAI was currently discussing an appropriate model with experts and regulators all around the world and that the consultation paper will be released after the completion of those conversations.
