The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has fined Virat Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), after their defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match. Kohli has been fined for violating the BCCI’s Code of Conduct.

Kohli was fined for showing dissent against the umpire’s decision during the match. The incident happened in the 13th over of RCB’s innings when Kohli was given out lbw by the umpire. Kohli showed his displeasure with the decision and had a heated discussion with the umpire.

The BCCI’s Code of Conduct states that players must not show dissent against the umpire’s decision. Kohli has been found guilty of breaching this code and has been fined 12 lakhs ($16,000) for his actions.

This is not the first time that Kohli has been fined for breaching the BCCI’s Code of Conduct. In 2019, he was fined for his conduct during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kohli was seen angrily gesturing towards the umpire after a decision went against his team.

Kohli’s actions have been criticized by former cricketers and fans alike. Many feel that as the captain of the Indian cricket team, Kohli should set a better example for younger players.

RCB has struggled in this year’s IPL, winning just two out of their six matches so far. Kohli’s form with the bat has also been a concern, with the captain scoring just 143 runs in six innings.

The team will be looking to bounce back from their defeat against CSK and put in a better performance in their next match. However, Kohli will need to be careful with his conduct on the field, as any further breaches of the BCCI’s Code of Conduct could result in further fines or even a suspension.
