Theft caught while stealing 33 lakh worth electricity

Mumbai, Maharashtra: The developer stole electricity worth Rs. 33 lakh from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) at his building site in Ambernath, in the Thane district of Maharashtra.
The MSEDCL discovered that Seren Infrastructure, a construction business, had been stealing electricity from a remote facility.
It was discovered that during the course of 21 months, from March 2021 to November 2022, the builder stole 80,387 units of power worth Rs 33 lakh.

The developer allegedly built two 12-story buildings at the site before with approval from MSEDCL, according to a news release from MSEDCL. after building two residential complexes without approval for another residential complex using an older link.The officer added that the concerned builder has been given a notice to pay for electricity that was taken. Police will submit a complaint against the infrastructure if this payment is not made on time.
