The court released former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students Umar Khalid and Khalid Saif from the 2020 riots case. The decision was made by Judge Pulastya Pramachala in the case involving alleged rioting, and destruction at a parking lot. Tahir Hussain, the head of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and 10 other individuals are to be charged.
However, since they were also charged in other cases connected to the riots, including one involving the bigger case, so they will remain behind the jail, the other court granted relief to both of the suspects, on a bond of 10,000 amount. due to the lack of evidence to hold them accountable.
The father’s response to JNU student Umar Khalid is that he is extremely happy that his son gets discharged. He hopes that his son gets justice from the other court as well.
