Congress leader Ajay Maken has urged his party members to show no sympathy towards Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the wake of the “Gheegate” controversy. Maken made the remarks while addressing a gathering of Congress workers on Saturday.
The controversy erupted after a video showed Kejriwal being attacked with ink during a public event in Delhi. While some people sympathized with the Delhi Chief Minister, others condemned his behavior and criticized him for allegedly instigating violence.
Maken urged his party members to take a tough stance against Kejriwal and not give him any room to escape. He said that the Congress should take advantage of the situation and launch a strong attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader.
“We should not sympathize with Kejriwal. He has been playing dirty politics for a long time now and it’s time to expose him,” Maken said. “We should not let him get away with this. We need to take a strong stand against him and hold him accountable for his actions.”
Maken also accused Kejriwal of trying to shift the focus away from his failures as Chief Minister. “Kejriwal is trying to divert attention from his failures in governance by creating such controversies. He wants to portray himself as a victim and gain sympathy from the public,” he said.
Maken also called on the Congress to reach out to the people of Delhi and explain to them the party’s vision for the city. He said that the Congress had a strong track record in governance and had delivered on its promises in the past.
