The cricketing world was shocked when India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant found himself in a gruesome car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30. Fortunately, Pant was able to survive the accident, with only minor injuries, and has now released an official statement about his well-being. In this statement, Pant expressed his gratitude for all those who supported him during these trying times, as well as for the two heroes who helped him out during the actual accident. He tweeted, “I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar, Thank you. I’ll be forever grateful and indebted”.
Taking to social media, Pant also posted a picture of the two brave individuals who saved his life. The cricketing fraternity, as well as millions of fans across the world, have wished Pant a speedy recovery. Upon the incident, Pant was first moved to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he was treated for his injuries, before being shifted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai via an air ambulance. Pant won’t be able to play in IPL this season due to this tragedy and fans will be missing him a lot.
