Boxer M.C. Mary Kom, a six-time world champion, and Olympic medalist will lead a five-member investigation committee appointed by the government to look into allegations made against Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh by some well-known wrestlers.
Yogeshwar Dutt, an Olympian in wrestling, Trupti Murgunde, a well-known shuttler, Commander Rajesh Rajagopalan, and Radhica Sreeman, a former executive director of the Sports Authority of India, are the other panelist members.
They will look into the severe accusations made by the wrestlers, and they will report it back within a month. According to a press statement, the panel will look into claims of sexual misbehavior, harassment, and intimidation as well as financial fraud and administrative mistakes.
A seven-member committee including Ms. Kom and Mr. Dutt set up by the Indian Olympic Association to look into the wrestler’s accusations. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Panel is also headed by Ms. Kom.
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur Promised the wrestlers from Haryana, including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, and Sakshi Malik that an investigation is started for their Justice. They started a protest in Delhi on Wednesday, after the assurance given by Mr. Thakur protest get canceled by the wrestlers.
